Online games are growing. In the past, it was typical to purchase for a game to play on the world wide web, even through paying for the game in a store or moving up to premium online. Now, with the onset of piracy and the increased desire for "free" by the paying public, people are no longer willing to pay. Free online games, by choice or not, are becoming more prominent than ever.

Whether its fashion games, dress-up games or online pool, there are now an assortment of entertainment variety to fill your fancy. Some are the equivalent quality as the fifty dollar copies you would purchase at the store. Others aren't as great, but still can entertain for 30 minutes to an hour on frequently. And there are plenty of variables to maneuver from, so you could almost forever change back and forth between games capable of drawing 30 minutes of your time.

These games make up for the absent buying money in a multitude of directions. Some have in-game and pre-sell advertising. Others have "premium" add-ons you can get to speed up games, get other equipment or unlock new get-ups. Young ones playing fashion or dress-up games ask parents to upgrade to the full version of the demo versions they were playing. Some companies simply want you to stay on-site and experience the branding that comes with enjoying within a browser and looking at a logo for what seems like forever, hoping this will help you become brand loyal and end up spending cash somewhere else.

Although games like Madden NFL or NBA Live aren't free yet, many economists predict a near-zero pricing model will emerge in the future, meaning there will be more and more free online gaming selection to choose from, and having to pay will be something of yesteryear, much like the music pricing model of today.
